Health & Safety Policy

Sets out AuHandel’s approach to providing a safe and healthy working environment and managing health and safety risks proportionate to the nature of our operations.

Applies to: All directors, employees, contractors, and any third parties acting for or on behalf of AuHandel.

AuHandel is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment and to managing health and safety risks proportionate to the nature of our operations. As an institutional gold brokerage/trading counterparty, our primary work environment is office-based; however, health and safety considerations may also arise during meetings, travel, or site visits connected to transactions.

  • Protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our personnel.
  • Identifying and managing hazards and risks.
  • Encouraging reporting of hazards and incidents without fear of retaliation.
  • Ensuring appropriate safety expectations for any work-related travel or site visits.
  • All AuHandel work activities, including office work, meetings, travel, and any visits to third-party sites or facilities.
  • All personnel and representatives acting for AuHandel.

Policy commitments

  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment and safe systems of work appropriate to our activities.
  • Identify hazards and implement reasonable controls to reduce risk.
  • Comply with applicable workplace health and safety laws and regulations relevant to our operations.
  • Encourage timely reporting of hazards, incidents, and near misses.
  • Prohibit retaliation against personnel who raise health and safety concerns in good faith.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Senior management is accountable for health and safety oversight.
  • All personnel and contractors must take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.
  • Follow safety instructions and procedures.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.
  • Avoid unsafe behaviour and report unsafe conditions.
  • A designated contact (e.g., Operations/Compliance Lead) may coordinate health and safety reporting and follow-up.

Hazard identification and risk management

AuHandel manages health and safety risks by:

  • Identifying hazards relevant to our operations (e.g., workstation ergonomics, electrical safety, slips/trips, travel risks).
  • Implementing reasonable controls (e.g., safe workstation setup, maintaining clear walkways, basic first aid readiness where applicable).
  • Reviewing incidents/near misses to prevent recurrence.

Travel, meetings, and site visits

Where business travel or site visits occur, AuHandel will:

  • Consider safety risks relevant to travel and destination.
  • Require personnel to follow reasonable safety guidance and local requirements.
  • Where appropriate, confirm that any third-party facility visit is conducted under that facility’s safety procedures.
  • Permit personnel to decline participation in unsafe activities or environments.
  • AuHandel does not require personnel to enter environments where safety risks cannot be reasonably managed.

Incident reporting and response

AuHandel encourages prompt reporting of hazards, incidents and injuries, and near misses.

  • Reports should be made to:complaints@auhandel.com.
  • AuHandel will assess reported issues.
  • Take corrective actions proportionate to risk.
  • Document actions taken where appropriate.

Non-retaliation

AuHandel prohibits retaliation against any person who reports a health and safety concern, hazard, incident, or near miss in good faith.

Training and awareness

AuHandel provides health and safety guidance appropriate to its operations, which may include:

  • Safe workstation/ergonomic practices.
  • Incident reporting expectations.
  • Travel safety considerations.

This policy is reviewed at least annually and updated as needed based on:

  • Changes in operations.
  • Incidents and learnings.
  • Changes in legal requirements.
